These are the Days!!  Hooray! It's that time again! Every year CTMH puts out an amazing Calendar workshop. Over the years they have transitioned their Calendar kit into a Cutabove--meaning pre-cut and pre-designed pieces that make it a breeze to put it together. Of course, my Snips by Kelly Papercrafters LOVE 2-page layouts and some like to do calendars and some do not.  I like to give a calendar each year to each of my grown children so I DO love to do calendars and having them be EASY is a must, especially to get them done in time for the holidays.  I love giving them a calendar that can then convert into an album! I take the original pieces from the Cutabove kit and manipulate them and rearrange them and add cardstock to them to stretch the 13-single page workshop into a 26 page companion workshop.  If you aren't doing the  calendar, you end up with 26 amazing pages to fill an album. If you are doing the calendar, you can use the 13 base pages for the Calendar and when the year is through, you simply remove the base pages from the calendar, add them to the companion pages and wa-la! You have a 26 page memory book for the entire year!  I kept almost all of the original pieces designated for  each month/layout with that layout and just re-arranged to make it so easy to organize all of the layouts and put them together in a snap! Can you smell the sugar cookies in the oven?  Freshly Baked is SO much fun! We all have so many memories of special recipes, baking, and just hanging out in the favorite room of the house! The kitchen!  This is such a fun line that lends itself to holiday baking but could very easily be used for everyday baking or some theme specific baking that is inline with your traditions.  It feels festive and warm to me, especially with rich Mocha and Scarlet througout!  It's beginning to  smell alot like Christmas!!

Doesn't this give you a whimsical, nostalgia feel? It so makes me think of Frosty! I suppose with the younger generation they may think Olaf!  I designed these pages with a whimsical winter feel with so much playful fun! Our Seas and Greetings special and line is unique indeed because you have the option to go "Beach" or "Winter".  You can flip the papers over and switch out the embellishments, stamp and thin cuts and it can be a "Warm Winter" instead of a White Winter.  I opted to create Winter because, of course, here in South Dakota we have snowy winters.  However, I did want to create just one layout of the BEACH theme side by side to  show you how easy it is to do a flip to beach.  The beach embellishments and stickers draw on the beach theme with "sandy" snow people instead of white.  So clever.  I can totally see palm trees or beach umbrellas in the place of the Winter trees.  Here is a look at my example of how you can flip this workshop!

You can see the Beach Snowman Hero paper is  on the back of the Winter Snowman Hero paper....do a flip and change it up with the coordinating stamp, thin cut and acylic shapes and voila! Beach  time!
